Elijah’s story teaches us about prayer that believes God for more with confident faith, quiet trust, and even public courage.

Moses met with God face-to-face and learned to intercede; now we’re invited to do the same by seeking His glory and standing in the gap for others.

In this opening conversation of TRANSFIGURATION PRAYER: Where Heaven Meets Here,” we begin a new journey that will lead us up the mountain with Jesus to learn more about prayer.

The house is quieter now, and I find myself reflecting on nearly three decades of parenting. I made plenty of mistakes along the way, but I can confidently say these are some choices I absolutely don’t regret.

Prayer isn’t just a religious habit or a last resort. It’s how we connect personally with the God who invites us to come near. Just as a phone recharges when plugged in, prayer brings us into direct connection with the Source of all wisdom, power, peace, and purpose.

Just as electrical outlets provide constant access to electrical energy and power, prayer transforms our lives by giving us constant access to God. Prayer is the connection point between our everyday moments and God’s infinite strength — but like plugging into a power source, it requires an intentional choice. God’s power is always present and available, but we must draw near — and “plug in” through prayer and relationship. Let’s Seek Him and explore what it truly means to connect with God, our Source of Life, through prayer.

Just over a century ago, the electrical power grid began to spread across the United States. Cities were lighting up, making history. However, having power nearby didn’t mean people experienced it in their homes. Each household had to choose to connect to the grid and power up. Spiritually, the same is true for us. God’s power is real and available, but experiencing this isn’t automatic. Scripture teaches we can access God’s power for our lives through prayer. Let’s “Seek Him” about this in James 5:16b.

To power up in prayer means you create space for God in your everyday life—not just when times are tough. It means looking to Him when you’re parenting, asking for help when you’re worn out, and seeking His Spirit in your home, work, and heart.

Young Margaret Wilson of Scotland lived and died for Jesus. Her martyrdom begs the question of how seriously we take faith and suffering for King Jesus.

Mary Slessor gave her life to selflessly serve the people of Nigeria in Jesus’ Name. Her powerful story is inspiring for us to serve the way He calls us on mission!
