Wonders: Our Questions – God’s Answers

First, Seek Him...

Life is full of questions about everything from minor details to spiritual truths. Faith in God does not mean you never ask questions; faith is choosing to believe in Him through your questions. Do you have questions you are wondering about right now? God says, “Call Me” about these today!

...Then Speak Him!

Just like you wonder about questions in your life, so does the next generation. Whatever their age or stage, engage with them about their “wonders.” Listen, pray, encourage and guide them to what God says in His Word. This is true discipleship, and it starts with a conversation!

Wisdom

How can we Pray and Seek God about this Truth?

“God, I have so many questions! Do You know the answers? Are You okay with me wondering about hard things and questioning You in the process? Please give me wisdom for my wonders!”

Welcomes

What Can We Learn About This Truth?

Who, what, where, when, why and how! Our lives are full of questions, including “Where do we go for answers?” The truth is that God is omniscient, which means He knows everything, including the answers to all our questions! He welcomes us to come to Him with all the things we wonder about. Living by faith includes seeking His answers about the questions in our lives!

Weavings

What Else Does the Bible Say About This Truth?

When we are wondering about something and want God’s wisdom, He welcomes us to ask Him! Jesus said, “Ask and it will be given to you” (Matthew 7:7). And, James 1:5 says, “If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask God, who gives generously to all…and it will be given.”

How can God give us this wisdom and answer our questions? Because He knows everything! 1 John 3:20 says, “…He knows all things.” He knows details like how many hairs are on our heads (Matthew 10:30), what we’re going to say (Psalm 139:4) and what are the secrets in our hearts (Psalm 44:21). He knows the stars by name (Psalm 147:4) and sees everything that happens in the whole world (Job 28:24).

God knows all this and more, and He’s not afraid of our questions. We must choose to turn our questions toward God. Sometimes He will give us the exact answer, through His Word, prayer or the guidance of people who love us. Sometimes, He will give answers to questions we didn’t even realize we had, while still other times He may have us wait for an answer. Any which way, we should remember that He invites us to talk to Him: “Call to me and I will answer you and tell you great and unsearchable things you do not know” (Jeremiah 33:3).

Walking

How Can We Live Out This Truth?

Faith in God does not mean you never ask questions; faith is choosing to believe in Him through your questions. We want to be a family committed to talking about everything and taking our questions to God. Sometimes our questions are little; sometimes they are really big. Sometimes our questions are silly and sometimes they are scary. Any which way, let’s talk about how we want to share our questions with one another and then about how we can take them to the Lord.

A Family Blessing

A Blessing from this Lesson to Speak over Those God has Entrusted to You!

“Before you were even born, God knew everything about you. He knew what you would look like, how you would talk, what you would do with your life. Not only did He know you before you were born, He loved you – – – and He loves you still! I pray that you will walk with Him all the days of your life, leaning into and trusting His sovereignty. In Jesus’ Name, amen.”
