It Starts with a Conversation
“Seek Him Speak Him” – Convo 1: With My Whole Heart
First, Seek Him...
The God of the Universe wants us to be in relationship with Him and “Seek Him.” As we go through this conversation series, let’s go back to the basics and consider what it means to seek Him with our whole hearts!
...Then Speak Him
God invites us to Seek Him Speak Him! We may not know all that this means quite yet, but will we follow what we do know? Will we begin to say and live, “With my whole heart I seek You”? Let’s seek God together, today!
Psalm 119:10
“With my whole heart I seek You; let me not wander from Your commandments.”
Word
God, what are you saying to me through this Scripture?
God’s Word encourages us to seek Him. The word “seek” in Psalm 119:10 means to search, investigate, research, study or diligently care for. All this means we are invited to put effort into knowing and following God. What an invitation! ~ How have you accepted this invitation up to this point?
Why
God, why does this matter?
We humans are prone to wander in different directions and be half-hearted in our pursuit of God. However, He invites us to be whole-hearted in seeking Him. ~ How much of your heart is seeking God right now? Can you say you are “whole hearted” in pursuing Him?
What
God, What Else Does Your Word Say About This?
In Scripture, God described one person as “whole-hearted” – – – a man named Caleb. He was one of the two spies who believed God and His promises during Israel’s exodus from Egypt. God said, “Because my servant Caleb has a different spirit and follows me wholeheartedly, I will bring him into the land he went to, and his descendants will inherit it” (Numbers 14:24 NIV). Because Caleb was wholehearted, God blessed both him and his family. ~ What if your children are blessed tomorrow because of the way you seek God today? How does Caleb’s example impact you?
Worship
God, How do you want me to respond to this truth?
Psalm 119:2 promises, “Blessed are those who keep his testimonies, who seek him with their whole heart.” ~ The question is, will you take God at His Word and turn your heart fully to Him? We will talk more about how to do this in the conversations to come, but, for right now, how will you respond?
Psalm 119:10
“With my whole heart I seek You; let me not wander from Your commandments.”
