Discipleship Starts with a Conversation

“Seek Him Speak Him”

Part 4: Sharing the Invitation

Seek Him Speak Him The great Invitation

This post brings us to our final conversation in our four-part “Seek Him Speak Him” series. As we “Seek Him” and get to know God better, we always, always have a next step – – – and that is to somehow, someway, share Him with someone else. Scripture teaches us that God wants all people to know Him and that He wants us to be part of helping them know. The Family Disciple Me ministry sums this up by saying “Speak Him.” This is what true love is, not just to share our lives, but also to share our faith.

This in mind, let’s focus on one final passage in this series and “Seek Him” about how He wants us to “Speak Him.” You can read the blog that goes along with this convo HERE – – – or you can dive right in to the conversation! Be encouraged! Tosha ❤️

1 Thessalonians 2:8
“Because we loved you so much, we were delighted to share with you not only the gospel of God but our lives as well.”
Seek Him!
Every person has the opportunity to seek the Lord. Right now, let’s do a devotion and “Seek Him” through this passage of Scripture!

As we seek to know the Lord, our amazing adventure with Him continues as we speak about Him so others can know Him, too! We love people well when we share both our lives and the truth of God’s Word with them. Let’s “Seek Him” about this through this Scripture!!

God, what are you saying to me through this Scripture?

If we truly love others, then we will want to make sure they know how much God loves them, too. The Gospel is that God reaches out to us and invites us into real relationship with Him. We can love people by helping them to learn about God, reach back to Him and accept His invitation, too! ~ Name some people in your life. How do they know you love them? How do they know God loves them?

God, why does this matter?

We live in a self-absorbed world full of people who focus only on what they want, need or desire. God wants us to think bigger than that! He wants us to delight in sharing both our lives and the truth of His Word with others. When we do, our lives become about so much more than ourselves. ~ What are some ways you can share the truth of God’s Word with someone else? How can you share your life?

God, What else does your word say about this?

The Apostle Paul wanted his friends to experience meaningful relationship with God, writing, “We dealt with each of you as a father deals with his own children, encouraging, comforting and urging you to live lives worthy of God, who calls you…” (1 Thessalonians 2:11-12). ~ Read 1 Thessalonians 2:1-20. How might you follow Paul’s example with the people in your life?

God, How do you want me to respond to this truth?

God wants us to both “Seek Him” and “Speak Him.” It’s a privilege to share God’s invitation with others and teach them what it means to seek Him and know Him, too! ~ Read aloud our theme verse and talk about how God wants you to live this!

Speak Him!

Once we “Seek Him,” we can “Speak Him” into the lives of the people God has entrusted to us. This is what discipleship is!

When we truly love someone, we will show it not just through our lives and actions. For Christ followers, this means that we care share the Gospel and the truth of God’s Word. This is how we “Speak Him” in our lives, to those He has entrusted to us!

1 Thessalonians 2:8
“Because we loved you so much, we were delighted to share with you not only the gospel of God but our lives as well.”
