“Seek Him Speak Him” – Part 2: God’s Great Invitation
First, Seek Him...
God invites us to seek Him, but He doesn’t play hide-and-seek with our hearts. Rather, when God says “seek Me,” He also promises “You will…find Me” – on the condition that we seek Him with all our whole hearts. In this conversation, consider God’s great invitation and your heart’s response today!
...Then Speak Him
God invites all of us to “Seek Him” with all our hearts, and He promises that we will find Him when we do! This is an amazing invitation as we give Him our whole hearts then seek to grow closer to Him each day.
Jeremiah 29:13
“You will seek Me and find Me, when you seek Me with all your heart.”

God, what are you saying to me through this Scripture?
The whole Bible is God’s invitation for us to seek Him. However, He doesn’t play games with our hearts and stay hidden from us when we “seek Him.” Instead, when we seek Him with all our hearts, He promises we will find Him. ~ Are you seeking God? Are you half-hearted or whole-hearted in this? What do you think it means to “find” God? How have you experienced this?
Why
God, why does this matter?
The one true God wants us to know Him. His Word encourages us to “Seek the Lord while He may be found; call upon Him while He is near” (Isaiah 55:6). If the God of the Universe is near us and wants to be found by us, what are we waiting for? ~ If your favorite celebrity or hero invited you to dinner, would you accept their invitation? Does God’s invitation matter to you? How?
What
God, What Else Does Your Word Say About This?
It is hard for us to imagine, but long before we ever seek God, He is already seeking us! Jesus said: “True worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth, for the Father is seeking such people to worship him” John 4:23b ESV. God the Father is literally reaching out to humanity, seeking people to reach back to and worship Him. ~ Does this truth inspire you to seek Him more? Why?
Worship
God, How do you want me to respond to this truth?
We first “seek Him” by giving our hearts to Jesus. Once we’ve done this, we continue to “Seek Him” through doing “spiritual disciplines,” which we’ll talk about in the next conversation. These are the things that make us what Jesus called “true worshipers,” the kind of people God is seeking. ~ Have you accepted God’s great invitation? Are you a true worshiper?
