It Starts with a Conversation

Seek Him Speak Him:
What Does It Mean to “Speak Him”?

First, Seek Him...

As you “Seek Him” and experience real relationship with God, you begin to have your very own “Jesus Story.” But don’t keep this story to yourself! Go share with others what God is doing in you!

...Then Speak Him

Your “Jesus Story” is the story of how God is impacting and changing your life. This story is the powerful word of your testimony, and God wants you to speak it by sharing it with others! Instead of being intimidated, go tell your “Jesus Story” to someone – today!

John 3:11
“We speak of what we know, and bear witness to what we have seen…”

God, what are you saying to me?

More than anything, God wants us to “Seek Him.” As we do this, we begin to know Him and see Him work in our lives. As we consider all He has done and is doing in us, let’s not keep this story to ourselves! Let’s “Speak Him” by joining Jesus in sharing what we know and have experienced with Him! We can call this our “Jesus Story!” Let’s practice sharing it right now! What is one thing you can “bear witness to” about Jesus?

God, why does this matter?

God wants us to go tell others everything we have learned and experienced with Him (Matthew 28:19-20). This is what discipleship is:  sharing with others what you know and experience with Jesus so they can know and experience Him, too. You see, your “Jesus Story” matters. This is your salvation story from when you gave your life to Him as well as today’s story of what He is doing in you right now. Let’s talk about your story. What is something you’ve learned about Jesus that matters to you? Why does this matter to you?

God, What Else Does Your Word Say About This?

Your “Jesus Story” is about how God is impacting and changing your life, one Scripture, experience and moment at a time. God said to the Apostle Paul, “Don’t be afraid, but speak right up, and don’t stop, because I am with you…” (Acts 18:9-10a CJB). His Word echoes to us, to not be afraid but to speak. Your “Jesus Story” is one that only YOU can tell; it’s as unique as your fingerprints. Are our fingerprints the same? As you hold up your fingers, what are five unique things about YOUR “Jesus Story” you can “speak right up” about?

God, How do you want me to respond to this truth?

The Bible is full of the stories of people like Paul who encountered God and told others about Him. The writers who penned the Bible were simply “Speaking Him” out of hearts that were “Seeking Him.” We can tell our “Jesus Story” too! It’s not about how much you know, how old you are, understanding the whole Bible or having all the “right” answers. To “Speak Him” is to tell your story of how He’s impacting your life. Worship Him by sharing your “Jesus Story” today!

John 3:11
“We speak of what we know, and bear witness to what we have seen…”

A Family Blessing

A Blessing from this Lesson to Speak over Those God has Entrusted to You!

Lord, “You have said, ‘Seek my face.’ My heart says to you, ‘Your face, Lord, do I seek.’” (Psalm 27:8 ESV). As we “Seek You,” help us to have the courage and boldness to “Speak You” to those You send our way. In the Name of the Father, Son and Spirit, amen!
