It Starts with a Conversation

Seek Him Speak Him:
What Does It Mean to “Seek Him”?

First, Seek Him...

God invites us into real, meaningful relationship with Him, and He promises to bless us when we take Him up on this amazing offer! What does “Seek Him” look like in your life today? What should it look like? Engage your heart in this conversation today.

...Then Speak Him

Relationship with God isn’t exclusive; all are invited into His Presence! As we “Seek Him,” we can encourage others to “Seek Him” too! Use this conversation as an opportunity to welcome those entrusted to you into His Presence!

Jeremiah 29:13
“You will seek me and find me, when you seek me with all your heart.”

Word

God, what are you saying to me?

Our God invites us into REAL relationship with Him, and we enter this through seeking Him. All of Scripture, from beginning to end, is His invitation to every single one of us. God extends this amazing offer and then looks down from heaven to see if any of us will accept it and “Seek Him” (Psalm 14:2; 53:2). How do you respond to His invitation? How is your heart toward God today?

Why

God, why does this matter?

This is an invitation we don’t want to turn down! The one true God wants us to know Him. He is near to us, right here, right now. His Word encourages us to “Seek the Lord while he may be found; call upon him while he is near” (Isaiah 55:6). If your favorite celebrity or greatest hero said, “Give me a call so we can hang out,” you’d probably take that person up on their offer, right? How much more so do we want to accept the invitation of the Lord of the Universe! Does His invite matter to YOU? How?

What

God, What Else Does Your Word Say About This?

There are so many things in life that we seek:  food, clothes, relationships, stuff, money and the list goes on. These are not necessarily bad things! However, Jesus said, “Seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you” (Matthew 6:33). God says to make Him the first priority in our lives and He will take care of everything else! Is there anything you seek more than God right now?

Worship

God, How do you want me to respond to this truth?

The Psalmist wrote, “With my whole heart I will seek You,” (Psalm 119:10). There are so many ways we can worship God with our whole hearts! We can “Seek Him” through talking about Scripture like we are doing right now, memorizing His Word, praying and worshipping Him with other believers. We can “Seek Him” through listening to worship music and paying attention to His voice. God loves when we set our whole hearts to “Seek Him.” How shall we worship God by seeking Him right now?

Jeremiah 29:13
“You will seek me and find me, when you seek me with all your heart.”

A Family Blessing

A Blessing from this Lesson to Speak over Those God has Entrusted to You!

God, Your Word says, “Those who seek the Lord lack no good thing…” (Psalm 34:10), so we trust that every moment spent seeking You is time well spent. You say that you reward those who earnestly seek You (Hebrews 11:6), so teach us how to seek You more and more every day, in Your Name Jesus, amen!
