Family Disciple Me responds to the Covid-19 Pandemic.

It Starts with a Conversation

PANDEMIC: FEAR
God Gives Us Help

First, Seek Him...

We all have times when we struggle with fear. However, no matter how massive the fear we’re facing, we need not deal with fear on our own. Our Lord Jesus Christ is with us and promises to help us. Seek Him about what this looks like for your life today!

...Then Speak Him

What fears are your kiddos struggling with? Fear has no age limit! Talk to your kids about what is making them afraid today, then teach them what God’s Word says about how He helps us through our fears – SPEAK HIM today!

Isaiah 41:10
“Do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you…”

Word

God, what are you saying to me?

God knows we live in a world of fear, but He doesn’t want us to live as fearful people. Why? Because He is with us! Like a friend, He promises to give us strength and help us through the things that make us afraid. Isn’t it wonderful when a good friend offers to help you when you’re having a hard time? God promises to do this for us! In what area(s) of your life do you need to ask God for His help today?

Why

God, why does this matter?

We all have times when we struggle with fear, especially when the world around us tells us we ought to be afraid. However, we’re not dealing with fear on our own; we believe in the Lord Jesus Christ, and He promises that He is with us. In no place, season or circumstances are we ever alone or without His help. Why does this matter to you right now, in this moment?

What

God, What Else Does Your Word Say About This?

God gives us His help in so many ways. He gives us hope (Jeremiah 29:11), joy (Psalm 16:11) and peace (Philippians 4:6-7), along with power, love and sound judgment (2 Timothy 1:7). He helps us by promising that there’s more to life than what we fear (Ephesians 3:20). God says, “For I, the Lord your God, hold your right hand; it is I who say to you, ‘Fear not,  I am the one who helps you’” (Isaiah 41:13-14). In what way(s) do you need God’s help right now?

Worship

God, How do you want me to respond to this truth?

Because God helps us, we can worship Him by helping others. Isaiah 41:6 says, “Everyone helped his neighbor, and said to his brother, ‘Be of good courage.’” We can overcome fear by seeking God’s help then helping someone else in His Name. This is such a tangible way to put faith and love into action. Who can you help today? How?

Isaiah 41:10
“Do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you…”

A Family Blessing

A Blessing from this Lesson to Speak over Those God has Entrusted to You!

We will say, “The Lord is (our) helper; (we) will not fear”(Hebrews 13:6).“Our help is in the name of the Lord, who made heaven and earth”(Psalm 124:8). Thank You Lord God that You are our“ever-present help in trouble”(Psalm 46:1). We love You and are so grateful for You, in Your Name, amen!
