Family Disciple Me responds to the Covid-19 Pandemic.

It Starts with a Conversation

May You Pray- Along Life’s Way!

May You Pray Along Life's Way

First, Seek Him...

Have you stopped to think about the fact that God has made YOU His focus? “He bends down to listen”! He wants to spend time with you! So how will you respond? There is nothing more important in our day than to spend time with the Lord. Seek Him in prayer and invite Him into every part of your day

...Then Speak Him

Our prayers are important to God. This is such a powerful truth to speak to your own heart as well as over those entrusted to you. Sit in His presence today and guide your children to His presence in prayer, too.

Listen to the Podcast

Psalm 116:1-2
“I love the Lord because he hears my voice and my prayer for mercy. Because he bends down to listen, I will pray as long as I have breath!”

Word

God, what are you saying to me?

As long as we live and breathe, prayer should be an outpouring of our heart and soul. Isn’t it great that the God of the universe hears our prayers? We don’t have to wait to talk to Him; He’s ready to listen right now. As long as we have breath in our lungs He wants us to pray all along life’s way! How has our perspective or view of prayer changed this past month? What do we continue to pray for today?

Why

God, why does this matter?

Our relationship with God is nothing without prayer. Just like the air we breathe, communication is essential to our relationship with the Lord. Be still for a moment and listen to your breath. Now, take some deep breaths. As you breathe in, name a gift God has given you (i.e. grace, love, protection, peace) and as you breathe out say “thank you.” As our journey in life progresses, let’s never forget these gifts from God. He is our Gracious Father in Heaven, Who knows how to give good gifts. He will take care of us!

What

God, What Else Does Your Word Say About This?

We know prayer is important, but sometimes we don’t know what to pray. It’s okay to tell God that! In Jeremiah 33:3, God says: “Call to Me, and I will answer you, and show you great and mighty things, which you do not know.” When we don’t know what to pray, we can turn to His Word and pray Scripture. The book of Psalms is full of prayers we can echo. Praying His Word changes our hearts and our minds to know Him in a deeper, more powerful way. Let’s choose a verse from Psalms to pray right now!

Worship

God, How do you want me to respond to this truth?

Our prayers are an act of worship! This is the response God wants from us every day – all along life’s way. As we seek Him, He wants us to speak to Him about what is on our hearts and minds. What are you worried about today? What are you excited about? Everyday our feelings change, and every day He wants us to talk to Him about these things. How have you already seen Him answer your prayers along life’s way? As we close out this month of focus on prayer, how are we inspired to keep praying along life’s way?

Psalm 116:1-2
“I love the Lord because he hears my voice and my prayer for mercy. Because he bends down to listen, I will pray as long as I have breath!”

A Family Blessing

A Blessing from this Lesson to Speak over Those God has Entrusted to You!

Lord, You say: “When you call out to me and come to me in prayer, I will hear your prayers” (Jeremiah 20:12). How incredible that You hear our cries. Help us never forget the truth that You listen when we pray! We love You and are so thankful to serve a God who hears and answers our prayers. In Jesus’ Name, amen!
