20/20 Vision Check: Look to Jesus

Look To Jesus

First, Seek Him...

As Christ followers, it is good for us to look to godly examples for how to run our race for Jesus. However, more than anything or anybody, we must look to Jesus. How are you looking to Jesus today? What is your personal walk with Him like? Seek Him today!

...Then Speak Him

As we look to Jesus, we can “Seek Him Speak Him!” It is our privilege to get to teach truth to those entrusted to us, helping them know our Lord Jesus Christ better so they can look to Him, too. Today, speak Him to those entrusted to you!

Listen to the Podcast

Hebrews 12:2
“Looking to Jesus, the founder and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is seated at the right hand of the throne of God.”

Word

God, what are you saying to me?
As we run our race of life and faith, God wants us to look to Jesus! He ran the race ahead of us, leaving us an example of how to endure through hardship, ignore peoples’ ridicule and focus on joy. Jesus did all these things, and now He is seated in heaven’s throne room, watching us and praying for us (Romans 8:34) as we run our race. What race is God calling you to run today? As you do a 20/20 Vision Check, in what ways are YOU looking to Jesus these days? How does His example encourage you right now?

Why

God, why does this matter?
If we keep our eyes on this world or on other people, sooner or later we will become disappointed, discouraged, depressed or downright disheartened. Even the most godly examples will fail us at some point, somehow, in some way. So, while we can and should look to godly examples, we must set our eyes on Jesus the most. Is there anybody distracting you from Jesus right now? Who is it? Be honest!

What

God, What Else Does Your Word Say About This?
God’s Word is all about Jesus, so it’s hard to pick just one passage about Him! We can look to Jesus by reading the Gospels – Matthew, Mark, Luke and John – or by reading the Bible’s last book, Revelation. We can look to Jesus in the prophecies of the Old Testament and the fulfillments in the New Testament. What is one of your favorite stories or Scriptures about Jesus? What do you see about Him in that passage?

Worship

God, How do you want me to respond to this truth?
With all this in mind, we look to Jesus today and every day as our spiritual act of worship. He is our Savior, Redeemer, Lord and Friend. He loves us, He died for us, and He is working in and through us. We look to Jesus by seeking Him, and one way we can run our race is by speaking Him to others. “Seek Him Speak Him!” How will you run your race looking to Jesus today? How will you help others look to Him? Let’s pray!
Hebrews 12:2
“Looking to Jesus, the founder and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is seated at the right hand of the throne of God.”
