Look to God's Kingdom

First, Seek Him...

...Then Speak Him

The next generation has their own “shakings” right now. You are teaching them by your example how to look to God’s unshakeable Kingdom in the midst of this shaking world. In appropriate ways for the ages and stages entrusted to you, have a conversation about this today!

Hebrews 12:28a
“Therefore let us be grateful for receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken…”

Word

God, what are you saying to me?

This world is shaky and in constant upheaval. That can fill us with fear, but God wants us to live with gratitude. Why? Because He has given His children citizenship in a kingdom that is solid, secure and unchanging. God wants us to look to His unshakeable kingdom, which we receive through salvation by His grace. ~ What is “shaking” or changing in your world today? How does this make you feel? What does it mean to have citizenship in God’s unshakeable Kingdom? Are you a citizen of that Kingdom?

Why

God, why does this matter?

We don’t like to be shaken, not as people or as a society. These days, our world is shaking with elections, pandemics, riots, politics, conspiracies – – – and then there are our own personal “shakings” in relationships, changes at school, health risks and more. All this is scary! However, looking to God’s unshakeable Kingdom can give us so much hope and security. ~ What about you? Do you find yourself more shaken or secure these days? Why? Does this Scripture give you hope?

What

God, What Else Does Your Word Say About This?

God tells us to “Seek the peace and prosperity of the city” where we live, and to “Pray to the Lord for it, because if it prospers you too will prosper” (Jeremiah 29:7). It is biblical for us to actively seek to better our schools, communities, cities and nation. However, God’s Word also says, “Our citizenship is in heaven, and we eagerly await a Savior from there, the Lord Jesus Christ” (Philippians 3:20). Let’s talk about that. According to these two verses, how does God want us to live with our citizenship in two worlds?

Worship

God, How do you want me to respond to this truth?

Our key verse tells us God wants us to respond to His unshakeable Kingdom this way:  “let us be grateful.” We don’t have to live in fear when this world changes, because God has given us citizenship in His unshakeable Kingdom. He has also given us grace and other blessings. ~ What can we be grateful for today? How does this encourage your heart? Let’s pray and thank Him for all He is doing in and through us!

Hebrews 12:28a
“Therefore let us be grateful for receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken…”

A Family Blessing

A Blessing from this Lesson to Speak over Those God has Entrusted to You!

‘Our Father in heaven, hallowed by your name, your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven…” (Matthew 6:9-10). Lord God, we look to You for Your will to be done here on earth in our lives today. In Jesus’ Name, Amen!
