Life Verse Part Two: Frame It!
First, Seek Him...
Making God’s Word a priority takes commitment and determination. “Seek Him” about this using the 4 W’s, then continue to ponder your life verse and how God would have you “frame it” in your life.
...Then Speak Him
As we find life verses that are especially meaningful to us, we can frame them in our lives to share with others. Let’s talk about creative ways to do this! What ideas do you have?
Listen to the Podcast
Psalm 119:112
“I incline my heart to perform your statutes forever, to the end.”
Word
God, what are you saying to me through this Scripture?
Making God’s Word a priority is something each of us must decide for ourselves. The Hebrew word for “incline” in this verse means “to stretch out, to extend toward.” Like reaching toward a goal, we choose to continually reach for God’s Word. ~ What does this look like in your life?
Why
God, why does this matter?
All of us figure out ways to do what’s important to us. When God’s Word matters to us, we’ll do what it takes to make it a part of our lives, not just every once in a while but “forever, to the end.” ~ Have you made a commitment like this to God’s Word? How might a life verse be an expression of this?
What
God, What Else Does Your Word Say About This?
Making God’s Word a priority is so much more than reading rules and living by them. God’s Word is the path to blessing. Jesus said, “Blessed…are those who hear the word of God and keep it” (Luke 11:28). Psalm 119:1 says, “Blessed are those…who walk in the law of the Lord.” Throughout Scripture, God promises blessings through His Word. ~ Has God’s Word ever been a blessing to you? Why or why not?
Worship
God, How do you want me to respond to this truth?
We can worship God by decorating our lives with Scripture verses we love! God said, “Fix these words of mine in your hearts and minds…Write them on the doorframes of your houses…” (Deuteronomy 11:18a, 20a). Jewish people do this with mezuzahs, which are wall plates with Scripture they post by their doors. ~ Why do you think God wanted His people to find, fix and frame His Word in their lives?
Psalm 119:112
“I incline my heart to perform your statutes forever, to the end.”
A Family Blessing
May God’s Word be a treasure that you find and frame in your life, always leading and guiding you closer to Him. In Jesus’ Name, amen!
(Joshua 1:8). In Jesus’ Name, amen!!!
