Listen to the Podcast

Psalm 139:17a
“How precious to me are your thoughts, O God.”

Word

God, what are you saying to me through this Scripture?
God keeps the globe spinning, galaxies orbiting, trees growing and hearts beating. He is what we might call very busy. Yet, somehow in the midst of all He does, He thinks about you and I. We are on His mind! His thoughts about us are as innumerable as grains of sand, which means we can’t even count how many times He thinks about us! ~ How does this make you feel? Do you think about God very often? When? How much does Scripture say He thinks about you? Shall we try to count some grains of sand as an example?

Why

God, why does this matter?
If you want to know what really matters to you, make a list of what you spend time thinking about. Truth is, we think about what is important to us. So, we must be pretty important to God, because the Bible tells us He thinks about us all the time. He never gets distracted, sleeps or forgets about us. That matters a lot! ~ What are some things you spend time thinking about? How does it affect you to know that God spends His time thinking about YOU? Does this reality matter to you?

What

God, What Else Does Your Word Say About This?
God said, “My thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways,” (Isaiah 55:8). We forget to think about God because we do human things like get distracted or go to sleep, but God never ever forgets to think about us. In fact, He is thinking about plans to give us hope and a future (Jeremiah 29:11). He is thinking about finishing what He started in us (Philippians 1:6). He is thinking about how much He loves us and cares about us (Jeremiah 31:3). How precious are His thoughts toward us! ~ Let’s think about the four truths from Psalm 139: “I am fully known; I am never alone; I am wonderfully designed; I am on God’s mind.” Each of these truths are possible because God thinks about us. How does this encourage you?

Worship

God, How do you want me to respond to this truth?
That God should think about us is such an absolutely incredible reality. So, as He says “Whom shall I send?” we can respond, “Here I am, send me,” inviting Him to search OUR thoughts, know OUR hearts and lead us in the ways He knows is best for us. ~ Let’s talk to Him right now as we finish our Psalm 139 series!
Psalm 139:17a
“How precious to me are your thoughts, O God.”
