“I Am Never Alone”

I Am Never Alone

First, Seek Him...

We sometimes feel so alone in life. Truth is, no human being can always be with us. But God is. He tells us He is with us throughout His Word, and this truth beautifully resonates in Psalm 139:7-12. How does this affect your journey today? Seek Him about His presence!

...Then Speak Him

Sometimes our kids feel alone like we do. As they go to school or quarantine; as they hang out with friends – or don’t get to be with anybody. Growing up is always hard, and this season especially so! We can encourage them that God is with us. Speak Him today!

Psalm 139:10
“Your hand shall lead me, and your right hand shall hold me.”

God, what are you saying to me through this Scripture?

With God, no place is too far, no season too hard, no situation too dark. Wherever we go, God is there with us! We can neither hide from Him nor be away from Him. He is as close as our breath, as near as our heartbeats. Even if we’re in quarantine, we’re never, ever alone. God is always with us! ~ Do you ever feel alone? Where do you feel most alone? When? How does knowing God is present make you feel?

God, why does this matter?

No human being – not even those of us who love you the most – can always be with you. However, you are never alone, because God is always with you. This may be good news to you if you’re doing right or bad news if you’re doing wrong. Either way, our God is with us. He sees, He knows, and He is there, no matter what a year or a situation may bring. ~ Is there anywhere in your life you don’t want God’s presence? Is there a situation in which you need to remember God is with you? What can remind you of this truth?

God, What Else Does Your Word Say About This?

Throughout His Word, God promises His presence. “Be strong and courageous, do not be afraid or discouraged, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go” (Joshua 1:9 CSB). “Don’t be afraid, for I am with you,” God says in Isaiah 41:10. Jesus’ was called “Immanuel, which means, ‘God with us’” (Matthew 1:23). He promised, “I am with you always” (Matthew 28:20). What amazing, encouraging truth, from one end of the Bible to the other! ~ Can you trust God’s promise of His presence? If it’s true that He is with you, how does that affect you right now, today? Does it change anything? Does it change everything?

God, How do you want me to respond to this truth?

When God says, “Whom shall I send?” and you say, “Here I am! Send me” (Isaiah 6:8), you can know that you’re not going anywhere by yourself. God is with you every step of the way. ~ This week, let’s worship Him by inviting His presence into our day. Let’s start each day praying, “Hello Lord, where are we going today?” This may seem silly, but let’s do this to train our hearts to His presence and leading!

Psalm 139:10
“Your hand shall lead me, and your right hand shall hold me.”
