Psalm 139:1-6
“O Lord, you have searched me and known me! You know when I sit down and when I rise up; you discern my thoughts from afar. You search out my path and my lying down and are acquainted with all my ways. Even before a word is on my tongue, behold, O Lord, you know it altogether. You hem me in, behind and before, and lay your hand upon me. Such knowledge is too wonderful for me; it is high; I cannot attain it.”
Word
God, what are you saying to me through this Scripture?
Scripture says God knows everything about us. He knows where we’ve been and where we’re going. He knows what we’ve said and what we’re about to say. He knows our habits, our likes and dislikes, our character traits and personalities. ~ Do you know what you’re going to say 10 minutes from now? Did you know God knows? Did you know God knows this much about you? Who else knows this much about you?
Why
God, why does this matter?
People may misunderstand us, not appreciate us, or refuse to get to know us. However, God knows everything about each of us and wants us to be close to Him. Some things in our lives may feel so personal that we won’t even admit them to those closest to us. However, we never have to hide our questions, doubts, worries or fears from God. He already knows these anyway! So, we can talk to Him about the highs and lows, good and bad of our lives. ~ Is it hard for you to do this? Do you pray or journal? Why or why not?
What
God, What Else Does Your Word Say About This?
We cannot hide anything from the Lord. Scripture says, “Nothing in all creation is hidden from his sight,” (Hebrews 4:13 NIV). And God says, “I, the Lord, examine the mind, I test the heart…” (Jeremiah 17:10 CSB). Since God sees the realities of our lives, we might as well ask for His help in these!~ Can you keep secrets from God? Is there anything you are trying to hide from Him? Why should you talk to Him about your life if He already knows it all? Is there anything you think God wants you to share with us right now?
Worship
God, How do you want me to respond to this truth?
When God says, “Whom shall I send?” and you say, “Here I am! Send me” (Isaiah 6:8), you can be confident He completely knows you. He knows what you’re good at, what you’re dealing with, and where you alone can make a difference in this world. You’re not just some random person; you’re His beloved, wanted, known child. You can worship Him by believing this truth! ~ Will you do this? Let’s pray about this!

A Family Blessing
Lord God, You search our hearts; You see our paths; You know our minds. Help us to see and know You better in the days ahead as we search Your Word and get to know Your heart. In Jesus’ Name, amen!
