Isaiah 14:24
“The LORD Almighty has sworn, ‘As I have planned, so it will be, and as I have purposed, so it will happen.”

Word

God, what are you saying to me?

Our changing world often seems like complete chaos, but our unchanging God remains in control. Even if we can’t see His purpose, God is doing what He planned before the world began. Every single thing He has decided, He will do. His Kingdom will come and His will will be done. ~ What is God speaking to you through this verse about persevering through hard times today?

Why

God, why does this matter?

Sometimes it can be hard to trust God when our life and world feel out of control. However, “The purposes of the LORD stand forever, the purposes of his heart through all generations” (Psalm 33:11). God’s purposes include salvation through Christ (Ephesians 3:10-11) and turning what humanity meant for evil into good (Genesis 50:20). No matter how crazy or hard life gets, we can cling to His promises that He is working all things together for His peoples’ good (Romans 8:28). ~ We can either trust God in this, or we can believe what the world tells us. Both are an act of faith. Which do you choose? Why does it matter?

What

God, What Else Does Your Word Say About This?

God knows all things, and His timing is perfect! He says, “My purpose will stand, and I will do all that I please…What I have said, that I will bring about; what I have planned, that I will do” (Isaiah 46:10b,11b). Acts 15:18 literally reads, “Known from eternity to God are all His works.” God’s not making up His next move like a chess player. His eternal plan is in action and His purpose will prevail (Proverbs 19:21). ~ These truths can fill us with hope and confidence if we trust the Lord. How do these Scriptures challenge you?

Worship

God, How do you want me to respond to this truth?

The best part of God’s unchanging purpose is that He has a purpose for us, too. He “saved us and called us to a holy calling, not because of our works but because of his own purpose and grace, which he gave us in Christ Jesus before the ages began” (2 Timothy 1:9). As God fulfills His unchanging purpose in our world, He is working in us, as well! ~ Do you want Him to work through you? Have you given your life to Him and chosen to follow Him? Let’s talk about God’s purpose of salvation and what it means for our family.

Isaiah 14:24
“The LORD Almighty has sworn, ‘As I have planned, so it will be, and as I have purposed, so it will happen.”
