Psalm 89:34
“I will not break my covenant or go back on what I promised..”

God, what are you saying to me?
God “has granted to us his precious and very great promises” (2 Peter 1:4), and “He who promised is faithful” (Hebrews 10:23). What God has said, He will do, it’s as simple as that. He gave His Word, and He’s not going to take it back. His unchanging promises are a “sure and steadfast anchor of the soul” (Hebrews 6:19), something we can hold onto in this ever changing world. ~ There are 1000’s of God’s promises throughout the Bible. Do you have a promise that means a lot to you today, or shall we look for one?

God, why does this matter?
Humanity is known for breaking commitments and promises. However, Numbers 23:19 tells us, “God is not a man that he should lie or a son of man that he should change his mind.” This means we can count on Him and rely on His promises. ~ What does it feel like when someone breaks their promise to you? Has God ever broken His promise to you in the past? Why can you trust Him to keep His promises in the future?

God, What Else Does Your Word Say About This?
Hebrews 6:17-18 says, “When God wanted to guarantee his promises, he gave his word, a rock-solid guarantee. God can’t break his word. And because his word cannot change, the promise is likewise unchangeable” (MSG). God’s character, Word and promises are unchanging and reliable. Generation after generation found this to be true. Abraham didn’t “waver concerning the promise of God, but he grew strong in his faith as he gave glory to God, fully convinced that God was able to do what he had promised” (Romans 4:20b-21). Joshua said, “Not one word has failed of all the good things that the Lord your God promised concerning you” (23:14). ~ What is YOUR “God Story” about His promises in your life?

God, How do you want me to respond to this truth?
Scripture says, We who have run for our very lives to God have every reason to grab the promised hope with both hands and never let go” (Hebrews 6:19). We may not understand everything God says or how He will work out all His promises, but by faith we can hold on to His unchanging promises in our ever changing world. ~ Which promise(s) are you holding on to today? Let’s talk to God about this!
Psalm 89:34
“I will not break my covenant or go back on what I promised..”
