WHY IS EASTER SO IMPORTANT?
Easter Reminds Us of the Gospel!
First, Seek Him...
The world celebrates Easter for its family time, friends and fun. However, Christians celebrate because this holiday reminds us of what our Savior did to give us salvation. As we think about Easter and its importance in our lives, let’s focus on the Gospel this week!
...Then Speak Him
As the Easter holiday comes our way, we definitely want to make it special for those entrusted to us. However, more than anything, we want to press into conversation about the reason why Easter is so important in our lives. Let’s Speak Him today!

1 Corinthians 15:1-2
“I would remind you…of the gospel I preached to you, which you received, in which you stand, and by which you are being saved, if you hold fast to the word I preached to you — unless you believed in vain.”
Word
God, what are you saying to me through this Scripture?
The Gospel is the Good News about Jesus, our Lord and Savior. Paul shared the Gospel with the Corinthian church, and they “received” it, which means they accepted Christ and made Him a part of their lives. Somebody shared the Gospel with each of us, too, so that we have the opportunity to experience salvation. ~ Who “preached” or shared the Gospel with you? What’s your “Jesus Story”?
Why
God, why does this matter?
The Gospel matters because it affects our lives and eternity. Once we receive it, we must continue to “hold fast to the word” we heard about it. We hold onto the Gospel truth and don’t quit believing what the Bible says. ~ Have you received God’s gift of salvation? How are you holding onto it?
What
God, What Else Does Your Word Say About This?
Paul wrote, “I am astonished that you are so quickly deserting him who called you in the grace of Christ and are turning to a different gospel…” (Galatians 1:6). This desertion was true in Paul’s day and is true in ours. If we call ourselves Christians but don’t “hold fast” to the Gospel, then we will eventually be led away from Jesus and have “believed in vain.” Easter reminds us to remember the importance of the Gospel. ~ What leads people away from Jesus? Do you know anyone who has deserted Him? What about you? What do you choose?
Worship
God, How do you want me to respond to this truth?
When we “hold fast to the word” we’ve been taught, that’s how we worship and follow Jesus. At Easter we celebrate the Gospel, but every day we want to hold onto it and let it impact everything about our lives. ~ As we approach Easter, how are you holding onto Jesus? Let’s pray!
1 Corinthians 15:1-2
“I would remind you…of the gospel I preached to you, which you received, in which you stand, and by which you are being saved, if you hold fast to the word I preached to you — unless you believed in vain.”
A Family Blessing
“May this Easter season be filled with overflowing joy as you remember how much the Gospel matters to your life.” (1 Thessalonians 5:23). Amen!
