Family Disciple Me responds to the Covid-19 Pandemic.

It Starts with a Conversation

EASTER SEASON:  Be Glad

First, Seek Him...

Death was not the end of Jesus’ story. He resurrected! The disciples went from fear to gladness when they saw Him. What about you? Do you need to go from fear and anxiety to gladness in your life? Jesus can do in your life what He did in His disciples, so Seek Him!

...Then Speak Him

“Speak Him” into the next generation, telling them how God has given you joy, peace or gladness. Your story about how God is working in you is good for the next generation to hear. Speak Him!

John 20:20b-21
“…The disciples were glad when they saw the Lord Jesus said to them again, ‘Peace be with you. As the Father has sent me, even so I am sending you.’”

Word

God, what are you saying to me?

The sorrow of Good Friday segwayed into the joy of Easter Sunday. Jesus didn’t stay in the tomb; He resurrected! He showed His disciples His nail-scarred His hands and side, so they would know it was really Him (vs. 20a). Then He spoke peace, joy and purpose over them. They were so glad! As we celebrate Jesus’ resurrection, His peace, joy and purpose is for us, too! How does this make you glad right now?

Why

God, why does this matter?

The disciples were afraid as they walked with Jesus through Palm Sunday and the Last Supper to Good Friday. From His celebration to crucifixion, they experienced a complete mix of emotions. Perhaps we can relate to some of the anxiety and fear they felt. But then Easter Sunday arrived. Jesus didn’t stay in the grave, and this made them so glad! How does Jesus’ resurrection give you hope in the midst of all you’re feeling?

What

God, What Else Does Your Word Say About This?

When Scripture says that Jesus’ disciples “were glad,” it literally means they rejoiced in God’s goodness and grace. This is exactly what Jesus promised them before His crucifixion, when He said, “Now is your time of grief, but I will see you again and you will rejoice, and no one will take away your joy” (John 16:22). Jesus is always true to His Word. What He promises, He fulfills. Which of His promises about joy and gladness bring you hope right now? (Look up some Scriptures about those if you need to!)

Worship

God, How do you want me to respond to this truth?

“You have made known to me the paths of life; you will make me full of gladness with your presence,” (Acts 2:28). Our God is not dead. We serve a risen Savior! In His Presence is life and hope, joy and peace, purpose and gladness. How in the midst of our current circumstances can we celebrate Him today?

John 20:20b-21
“…The disciples were glad when they saw the Lord Jesus said to them again, ‘Peace be with you. As the Father has sent me, even so I am sending you.’”
