Family Disciple Me responds to the Covid-19 Pandemic.

It Starts with a Conversation with our Loved Ones During Quarantine

Worry

First, Seek Him...

During this quarantine, let’s face it: there are a lot of things to worry about! From food supplies to sickness or even death, the spectrum of things to worry about can wrap our hearts in anxiety. Seek the Lord about the worry you feel. Let His Word speak to you today!

...Then Speak Him

Even if the next generation isn’t necessarily worried, they feel the tension of this season. As you seek the Lord about the worries of your life, lead your kids to look to Him about whatever their cares and concerns, too. Seek Him Speak Him!
Matthew 6:25 NIV
“Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes?”

WORD:  God, what are You saying to me?

It’s easy to get caught up in worry about our lives, especially when the future is unknown. However, Jesus said that He wants us to focus on life not worry. What are the blessings of life that God has given us today?

WHY:  God, why does this Scripture matter?

We can always find something to worry about, in easy times and especially in hard times. This worry can eat us up from the inside out, make us depressed and anxious. God wants us to focus our thoughts differently, though. Are any of us anxious or worried right now? About what exactly? How does God’s Word help us shift our perspective away from worry today? What does He want us to focus on?

WHAT: God, what else does Your Word say to me about this?

Philippians 4:6 says, Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done” (NLT). What needs or worries should we pray about right now? What can we thank God for in the midst of the crazy times we’re experiencing?

WORSHIP: God, how do You want me to respond to this truth?

Jesus said, “Don’t worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will bring its own worries. Today’s trouble is enough for today” (Matthew 6:23 NLT). We can worship Jesus by listening to His voice and obeying Him. Today we’re going to focus on today. So, what does God have for us today? Homeschool? Helping others? Encouraging some friends? Going outside to play? Let’s worship God by setting aside worry to live well for Him today!

Matthew 6:25 NIV
“Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes?”

A Family Blessing

Lord God, we choose not to worry. We choose to live by faith in You, knowing You are with us and You have blessed us with life today. Help us to live this day well, for Your glory. In Jesus’ Name, amen!
