Family Disciple Me responds to the Covid-19 Pandemic.

It Starts with a Conversation with our Loved Ones During Quarantine

Separation

First, Seek Him...

The weeks of quarantine go by, and we miss friends and society in general. However, the darkness of separation makes the light of God’s love shine even brighter, because we can never be separated from His love. Let this truth impact your heart today! Seek Him!

...Then Speak Him

What a teachable moment to impress upon the next generation the truth of God’s love in Jesus. Circumstances and diseases can separate us from one another, but nothing can separate us from His love. Talk about this with those entrusted to you!
Romans 8:38-39 ESV
“For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.”

WORD:  God, what are You saying to me?

We are separated from so much in this season. We can’t spend time with friends or go out. We can’t eat in restaurants or walk into most stores. Isolation and separation are so hard, but this quarantine makes one truth about God all the more amazing:  nothing can ever separate us from His love. What is separating you from what really matters to you right now? What does Scripture say can separate us from God’s love?

WHY:  God, why does this Scripture matter?

We can all agree that quarantine is difficult. It’s hard not to get to be with people we love and friends we care about. It’s hard to not be allowed to go out into public and do normal things. So much is changed right now, but God’s incredible love stays the same. He loves you, and He will always love you. How does knowing He loves you encourage you today?

WHAT: God, what else does Your Word say to me about this?

God’s Word asks, Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or danger, or sword?” (Romans 8:35). The answer is nobody and nothing can separate us from His love. Nothing can come between us and God’s love for us. In fact, He says, I have loved you with an everlasting love” (Jeremiah 31:3). ~ It may feel like quarantine is lasting forever, but truly how long will it probably last? By contrast, how long will God’s love last?

WORSHIP: God, how do You want me to respond to this truth?

Through the required social distancing right now, we understand what separation is really like. Through Scripture, we understand what God’s love is really like. We can never be separated from His eternal love. Let’s read Psalm 136 and talk about how God wants us to respond to His love.

Romans 8:38-39 ESV
“For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.”

A Family Blessing

Jesus, thank You for Your love! Thank You for making us matter so much and keeping us always close to Your heart. We love You Jesus! Amen!
