Family Disciple Me responds to the Covid-19 Pandemic.

It Starts with a Conversation with our Loved Ones During Quarantine

First, Seek Him...

God wants us to be thankful people – thankful to Him for all His goodness, and also thankful to others for how they help us. Gratitude is a reflection of what’s going on in our hearts. Are you a grateful person? Are you expressing this gratitude? Seek Him about this today!

...Then Speak Him

Training the next generation “to say thank you” isn’t just common courtesy, it is a godly character trait. As you grow in gratitude in your own heart, encourage those entrusted to you to grow in gratitude, too, beginning with this conversation.
Romans 16:4 ESV
“They risked their lives for me. Not only I but all the churches of the Gentiles are grateful to them. ”

WORD:  God, what are You saying to me?

Though the story is lost to history, it’s clear that some people exposed themselves to great danger in order to save the Apostle Paul’s life. He and all the believers were so grateful for their sacrifice and courage. This can prompt us to think of who may be risking their lives for us. Who is exposing themselves to danger right now for our sake? What example did Paul set for us in this?

WHY:  God, why does this Scripture matter?

Remembering “to say thank you” is a significant character trait. It’s important that we not just receive gifts but respond to them. These gifts may be anything from birthday presents to life-saving sacrifices – – – but they’re all gifts where somebody used their life’s resources to make our lives matter. How does it make you feel when someone uses their life or resources to help or bless you? How do you think it makes others feel when you express your gratitude to them?

WHAT: God, what else does Your Word say to me about this?

1 John 3:16-18 says, “By this we know love, that he laid down his life for us, and we ought to lay down our lives for the brothers. But if anyone has the world’s goods and sees his brother in need, yet closes his heart against him, how does God’s love abide in Him? Little children, let us not love in word or talk but in deed and in truth.” God wants His children to actively help and love others. What is our part today?

WORSHIP: God, how do You want me to respond to this truth?

Scripture tells us to worship God by being thankful. As we grow in gratitude to Him, our thankfulness can overflow onto others, too. Who do we appreciate today? How can we show these people our appreciation?

Romans 16:4 ESV
“They risked their lives for me. Not only I but all the churches of the Gentiles are grateful to them. ”

A Family Blessing

Lord God, thank You for caring about our feelings, tears and emotions. Help us to care about others and lift them up, just like You encourage and carry us. In Your Name Jesus, amen!
