Family Disciple Me responds to the Covid-19 Pandemic.

It Starts with a Conversation with our Loved Ones During Quarantine

First, Seek Him...

Whatever we are going through, God doesn’t want us to just survive, He wants us to live with purpose. What are you enduring right now? Are you looking to Jesus, seeking Him through your circumstances? Take some time to consider how you “run” today!

...Then Speak Him

Everybody is “enduring” something. In this season and always, those entrusted to you have a race set before them, too. Talk about what this is and encourage one another to look to Jesus in it and through it. Seek Him Speak Him!
Hebrews 12:1b ESV
“Let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, looking to Jesus… ”

WORD:  God, what are You saying to me?

Challenging times are seldom a quick sprint; they are usually more like the long run of a marathon. God’s Word calls us to run through our present circumstances with endurance. However, to endure doesn’t just mean to buckle down and merely survive. Endurance in the Bible means to make progress, to exercise ourselves, to lean into our race with purpose. What is part of your “race” in this season? How are you leaning into it with purpose and intentionality today

WHY:  God, why does this Scripture matter?

Sometimes we get overwhelmed because we look at our challenges like an impossible race. We imagine we’ll never make it to the finish line, so instead of moving forward with full effort, we make little or no effort. But God’s Word says, “I can do all things through Christ who gives me strength” (Philippians 4:13). If God promises strength, how can you “run” the next step of your race today?

WHAT: God, what else does Your Word say to me about this?

Our Scripture verse continues saying: “Looking to Jesus, the founder and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross… Consider him who endured…so that you may not grow weary or fainthearted” (Hebrews 12:1b-3) What did Jesus endure for us? What does Scripture say He focused on in order to endure? How does this Scripture tell us to respond to His example?

WORSHIP: God, how do You want me to respond to this truth?

God’s Word tells us to, “Rejoice in…sufferings, know that suffering produces endurance, and endurance produces character…” (Romans 5:3-4a). We worship God by trusting that enduring what we are going through right now will produce character in us – – – and not just any character, but the kind of character that is full of determination, strength, hope, joy and godly purpose. This kind of character glorifies Him. Let’s ask Him for His strength to run our race with endurance and grow in character today.

Hebrews 12:1b ESV
“Let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, looking to Jesus… ”

A Family Blessing

“May you be strengthened with all power, according to his glorious might, for all endurance and patience with joy” (Colossians 1:11). I believe in you and am so proud of you! In Jesus’ Name, amen!

May You Pray…For People Each Day

When someone matters to us, one of the best things we can do for them is to pray for them! As we remember others in our prayers, our God “remembers” to listen to us!
