It Starts with a Conversation with our Loved Ones During Quarantine
Courage
First, Seek Him...
God tells us to be courageous – and, let’s face it, courage looks different ways in different seasons. These days, grocery store clerks are amongst the courageous! (And thank God they are!) What does courage look like in YOUR life right now? Listen to the Lord speak into you about this!
...Then Speak Him
Joshua 1:9 ESV
“Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.”
WORD: God, what are You saying to me?
God encourages us to face hard times with strength and courage, not because hard times aren’t scary or difficult, but because He is with us. What hard times are we personally facing as a family during this pandemic? How have we seen people be courageous as they’ve faced these difficult times in recent days?
WHY: God, why does this Scripture matter?
Life is full of challenging seasons, and some seasons are more challenging than others – like this one! The character traits we learn during the hardest times go with us into the better times. How can we lean into the character trait of courage today? What does courage look like in our family right now?
WHAT: God, what else does Your Word say to me about this?
Deuteronomy 31:6 says, “Be strong and courageous. Do not fear or be in dread of them, for it is the Lord your God who goes with you. He will not leave you or forsake you.” What specific things are people in dread of today? Why do we not have to fear or be in dread?
WORSHIP: God, how do You want me to respond to this truth?
We can glorify God through living courageously during this pandemic. We’re not going to act like there’s nothing to be afraid of, but we’re going to hold on to God’s Presence and promises along the way. His Word says, “With full courage now as always Christ will be honored in my body” (Philippians 1:20). How can we honor God through our courage today?
Joshua 1:9 ESV
“Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.”
A Family Blessing
Lord God, You promise You are with us. Help us remember this and live with confident courage in Your presence today. We love You! In Jesus’ Name, amen!
